Traviation GSE supplies 12 new apron cars for Malta International Airport

The German company Traviation GSE, which specializes in ground support equipment, will be equipping Malta International Airport with 12 new TRAVI ML apron carts in April 2022.

The hand-guided apron carts were developed by Traviation GSE and approved for use on the airfield. Peter Henkst, Managing Director of Traviation GSE: "We are very pleased about this new cooperation. With over 50,000 aircraft movements per year, Malta International Airport is an ideal environment for the use of our TRAVI ML apron trolley."

In Germany, Traviation GSE apron trolleys are already in use at Hamburg and Paderborn/Lippstadt airports. The tested, hand-guided apron trolleys are specially designed for storing apron equipment. Holders for brake blocks, traffic cones, barrier tapes and FOD containers ensure that everything is always ready to hand and in its place.

The apron trolleys are available in different versions. At 1.33 m in length, the TRAVI ML is compact and handy for daily use on the apron and can carry a payload of 150 kg. Swivel castors and the height-adjustable handle with brake nevertheless ensure optimum mobility on the apron, even in one-man operation.

Traviation GSE apron wagon successfully in operation in Malta

Small trolley, big impact.
In April 2022, Traviation GSE equipped Malta International Airport with 12 new TRAVI ML apron trolleys. Just over a year later, it is time for Joe Bugeja, General Manager Malta International Airport, to give his first positive interim assessment : "We are delighted that our ground teams have commented very positively on the use of the units. They save time and don't have to lug around heavy wheel chocks. The entire apron equipment is safely stowed away and therefore also offers the arriving aircraft crew a great sight."
